Our Philosophy

Knowledge is power and when a student with a learning disability or attention issue understands how their brain works they gain more power to handle challenges, advocate for themselves, and create a path to college and/or a career.

We believe that all students deserve a chance to be successful in academics and life. That’s why the LEAD Foundation is committed to helping students and their families deal with the specific challenges and strengths of being a young person with a learning disability and/or ADHD.

The LEAD Foundation was organized in 2002 by a handful of parents familiar with the frustrations and difficulties of putting a child with learning disabilities and/or ADHD through the public school system.

These parents got together and created a support system that has grown to include community forums, workshops, a parent support group, resource center, and the publication of nationally recognized curriculum that transforms students with learning disabilities and ADHD into empowered self-advocates.
